Young woman facing charges of being 'getaway driver' in Athy robbery

A young  Co Wexford woman appeared before Naas District Court this morning charged in relation to a robbery in Athy.

Defence Solicitor Matthew Byrne outlined to the court that the accused is pleading not guilty to the robbery  at Rathstewart Filling Station, Athy, on November 23, 2o14.

Inspector Gerry Egan told the court how the accused is alleged to have been the getaway driver.

The court heard how staff in the store were 'threatened' and €450 was stolen.

It is alleged that the accused, a 28-year-old woman was  the 'getaway' driver.

Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered that six weeks be allocated for a book of evidence to be prepared.

There was no objection to bail.

The accused was ordered to appear at Naas District Court on June 16.
