Several roads are to be closed in Co Kildare and surrounding areas this month.
Resurfacing works will lead to the closure of the R403 from Firmount Crossroads (2km west of Clane) to the traffic lights at the crossroads at the Church of Our Lady and St Joseph in Prosperous village next week.
From Monday, August 8 until Friday, August 12, this road will be closed from 8am to 6pm.
The exact date of the closure will be determined by weather forecasts closer to the date, and this date will be publicised by VMS (Variable Message Signs) 24-48 hours in advance.
Westbound traffic will be diverted at Main Street, Clane and directed to Prosperous via the Kilcock Road (R407) to Borehole Cross and onto Prosperous via the R408.
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the council and the Gardaí.
Bridge rehabilitation works are due to take place on Rathcoole Bridge, from 7pm to 6am, on Monday, September 29.
Motorists are advised to divert at the bridge nto L2004 towards Rathcoole. Continue for approximately 1km through Rathcoole village and merge onto N7 dual carriageway at An Poitín Still Restaurant. Continue southbound on N7 for approximately 3.5km and take exit at Junction 5, Blackchurch. Cross over the bridge at Junction 5, take first exit off the roundabout and merge onto N7 northbound towards Dublin. Continue northbound on N7 for approximately 3.5km and take exit at Junction 4 for Rathcoole.
Those travelling from Greenogue to Rathcoole are advised to divert from roundabout at bridge onto N7 towards Dublin. Merge onto N7 and continue northbound for approximately 2.5km. Take exit at Junction 3, City West, and cross over the bridge towards City West. At roundabout, take third exit and merge onto N7. Continue southbound on N7 for approximately 2.5km and take exit at Junction 4 for Rathcoole.
There will be no through traffic across the bridge during this period; however, local access will be maintained on roads adjacent to the bridge at all times.
