It's set to be a breezy, mainly cloudy day ahead with outbreaks of rain and drizzle for Co Kildare as temperatures stay at around 18-20C today, although there's good news in store for the long weekend as temperatures are set to soar once more as a long-range weather map shows temperatures of 28C in Ireland over the Bank Holiday weekend.
This marks a massive 10C jump from the 18C forecast by Met Eireann today, and while Ireland was blasted by thundery downpours over the weekend, this looks set to clear up over the coming days.
The national forecaster Met Eireann confirmed: "High pressure is signalled to build over Ireland from the south towards the end of the week and into the coming weekend, leading to a return to more generally settled conditions... Daytime highs at this stage look likely to be in the low to mid-twenties."
