A man has been ordered to appear again before Naas District Court next week in connection to the theft of two watches using another person's Mastercard details.
The 30-year-old accused, was charged with inducing a person at The Links of London Jewellery Outlet, on June 14, 2018, to accept Mastercard payments for two watches, one watch valued at €299 and one watch valued at €433. It is understood that the transactions were online.
At Naas District Court, on Thursday, Garda evidence told how the accused did not have a 'physical card' but had the numbers.
The court heard how the accused 'obtained two watches' but that the money has been reimbursed.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "The mechanisms behind this alleged offence, to access someone's else numbers, there is a lot of criminality in it."
Judge Zaidan ordered that the accused appear again before Naas District Court on July 19, next.
