After a scorching bank holiday weekend with temperatures reaching up to 21C across the country, the weather will start to turn today bringing rain showers with some sunny spells and milder conditions for Co Kildare.

There will be outbreaks of light rain this morning, then gradual clearing from west around mid-day, moderate south to southwest winds 40 to 60 km/hr, about 5 to 8 mm of rain likely.

It will be a much fresher day with highs of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate westerly winds. There will be some sunny spells heading into the afternoon and occasional showers throughout the rest of the evening.

Meanwhile, it will be dry for much of the night with cloud increasing later in the night. Lows of 6 or 7 degrees.

Tomorrow will be a wet day with rain will reaching all parts of the province during the morning, persisting through the afternoon and finally clearing for the evening. Blustery during the day with southerly winds becoming westerly with the clearance.
