An adult seminar entitled 'Self-Advocacy, Self-Confidence, Self-Care' is being hosted by Dyspraxia Ireland at the Springfield Hotel in Leixlip.

Dyspraxia is a common disorder that affects movement and coordination. It is also known as developmental coordination disorder (DCD).
Dyspraxia/DCD is often spotted at a young age but there may be many adults with dyspraxia who remain undiagnosed.
It affects coordination skills such as tasks requiring balance, kicking and throwing a ball and writing or using small objects carefully.

It is a condition that will last for life and is recognised by international organisations, including the World Health Organisation.

There is no known cause of Dyspraxia. No clinical neurological abnormality is present to explain the condition. Research suggests that it is due to an immaturity of neurone development in the central nervous system.

The summit on Saturday, April 16 will be addressed by Kerry Pace, a practitioner who supports people who have dyspraxia.

For more information on the seminar email info@dyspraxia.ie.
