Kildare teacher Aishlinn McFadden is travelling to Africa this Summer as a volunteer teacher with the Irish organisation Nurture Africa.
During the placement, Aislinn will teach in a school in the town of Nansana, Uganda, and work closely with HIV infected/affected children and orphans and their families.
Outside of teaching she will also have the opportunity to engage with the various projects currently ran by Nurture Africa in the locality.
These projects include quality healthcare access and livelihood sustainability.
Aislinn said: "I have already started to fundraise for my trip but still have a substantial amount of money to raise. I have therefore organised the event ‘Kildare’s Got Talent’, a talent competition for all ages and acts.
"The event is two-part and will take the form of auditions on April 14th with successful acts proceeding to the live show with judging panel on May 5th.
