A documentary starring Oscar-nominated actor Hugh Jackman is coming to the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge on May 5.
Dukale’s Dream explores the friendship formed between Jackman and an Ethiopian coffee farmer named Dukale, who had grown up in poverty and was deprived of an education.
Jackman - who starred in the X-Men films - experiences poverty first hand and the and incredible hard work Dukale undertakes on a daily basis to provide for his family.
The Australian star was so inspired by what he saw that he made a promise to Dukale and his family, thus sending him on a life-changing journey.
Jackman said: "Going to Ethiopia with World Vision and meeting Dukale taught me what a difference fair trade makes to the income of farmers, and consequently their ability to break the cycle of poverty."
