The heavy showers of rain that have been bucketing down intermittently for the past number of hours will clear later tonight according to the latest forecast as the weekend is set to start off on a dry note.
The rain has been pushing down from the north all afternoon and should continue to move towards the south of the country, meaning that it will become dry once again early on tonight. It will be quite cold tonight however, as settled conditions will see temperatures drop to 0-2 degrees.
Tomorrow will be a bright day with plenty of patches of sunshine breaking out during the afternoon, although the weekend is set to be very cold. There is a risk of some isolated showers tomorrow afternoon, while temperatures will reach just 5-8 degrees.
