Paddy Casey will perform on dry land at this year’s River Festival in Kilcullen tomorrow but there will be plenty of fun and frolics, in and out of the water!
From 12-7pm, the main street will be closed to traffic as food purveyors and local restaurants provide food and tasters at the Market Square, amongst them Nolan’s of Kilcullen, Fallon’s, The River Café and Bardon’s.
Eurobounce will be in situ for the afternoon with bouncing castles, slides, fun-run, magician and a reptile zoo – great family entertainment all round and lots of treats for kiddies.

“We’re delighted to announce Paddy will play at the Market Square from 5.30m-7pm approximately, with ‘On the Grapevine’ to precede him from 4-5.30pm” said Brian Fallon of the festival committee.
One of the highlight of the day is the Raft Race will be hosted circa 3pm and let’s just say it’s more a spectacle than an athletic competition! The ducks competing for the Duck Race will be released circa 4pm, just before the dynamic On the Grapevine begins their performance on stage. Alas, no soap box race this year, owing to insurance issues.
Steve Kinneavey of the organising committee reminds KildareNow readers that there will be traffic restrictions in place from 12-7pm on Sunday, with diversions signed. “Detours will be clearly marked but we remind motorists that Kilcullen main street will be closed to traffic from 12-7pm”.T
