Regular visitors to St Brigid's Well near Kildare Town have been shocked at a recent case of vandalism.
There is evidence that a fire was started in the site used for religious devotion.
Charred remains are left on the ground as shown in this photo sent to us via Facebook by a KildareNow reader.
The miniature park contains a bronze statue of St Brigid as well as an ancient spring and bridges over a stream.
The regular visitor said: "I was shocked to see that a fire was deliberately lit by somebody which has caused damage to the ground."
"What must tourists think if they saw this? There are lots of local families who walk to the area and say prayers and must be upset by this type of vandalism."
