Councillor Murty Aspell has called on Kildare Co Council to replace a broken safety barrier opposite Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Newbridge.
The barrier protects pedestrians from traffic on the busy Moorefield Road.
A collision with a vehicle is believed to have dented the structure out of shape.
Cllr Aspell will raise the issue at the next meeting of Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District on April 17.
Standhouse Lawns
At the same meeting, the politician will ask the Council to carry out repairs to the road at the top of Standhouse Lawns and to replace the broken kerbs in the same area.
Moorefield Park
Councillor Robert Power will also request that the Council agree to complete footpath and resurfacing works in Moorefield Park in Newbridge so that all areas of the estate area are treated.
Councillor Morgan McCabe will ask the local authority to synchronize the traffic lights in Newbridge to relieve congestion on the Main Street, especially at peak times.
Lakeside Park
He will also request the Council to install lighting on the pathway traversing the green park in Lakeside Park
similar to the lighting project in Pairc Mhuire?
