Two Romanian women  are facing a charge before Naas District Court of using their residence for the purpose of prostitution.

The two women, aged 20 and 25, appeared before Naas District Court, again on April 4, last, charged with knowingly permitting premises to be used as a brothel for the purpose of habitual prostitution, at Canning Place, Newbridge, on November 8, 2018.

At the November sitting of Naas District Court, when the women first appeared, Sgt Brian Jacob said: "The ladies engaged in the practice of opening a brothel."

According to Sgt Jacob, they were 'in charge', and 'managing and providing services.'

Addressing Sgt Jacob, Judge Desmond Zaidan said:"Are you suggesting that there was a pimp involved?''

Sgt Jacob told the court how Operation Quest is taking place at the moment, to target brothel keeping.

On Thursday, April 4, last, at Naas District Court, the two women appeared.

Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered that the case is adjourned for hearing on June 6, next.

The two women are on continuing bail.

The women are permitted to stay residing at Canning Place, Newbridge, and are ordered to sign on three times per week, at Newbridge Garda Station
