A Newbridge Eagle Owl is missing likely to still be in Co Kildare, and capable of eating a fully-grown deer.
The female European Eagle Owl, named Tank but nicknamed 'Owlington', escaped from its home in Curragh Grange while being fed on Friday, reports Newstalk.
The bird was last seen in Caragh two days ago.
The creature has a 6.5-foot wing span.
Her owner, Darren Jackson says she is most likely still in the Kildare area.
He said: "Realistically if he went up as far as Caragh - we live in Curragh Grange which is just beside the Curragh - Caragh is maybe a 10 or 15 minutes drive away. With the wind carrying her, that would have been a very short flight, it wouldn't have been much of a distance at all.So I think realistically Naas, Sallins - pretty anywhere in the Kildare area at the moment is likely".
