This morning will be dull and misty in most parts of Co Kildare, with patches of mist, drizzle and fog, the fog possibly dense in places, although there will be a chance of sunny spells later.
Last night Met Eireann put issued a Status Orange fog warning for 18 counties including Co Kildare. The morning was in place until 8am this morning for counties Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
In its latest forecast, Met Eireann says: "Tuesday morning will be dull and misty in many areas, with patches of mist, drizzle and fog and a spell of more persistent rain and drizzle will develop in the southeast, extending into many parts of Munster during the day."
Met Eireann also said it expects this evening to be become dry.
A spell of more persistent rain and drizzle will develop in southern areas during the morning, especially along south and southeast coasts. Northern parts will be mainly dry, with bright spells developing and clearer conditions will extend gradually southwards during the day.
However, it will remain dull and misty in southern coastal areas until late afternoon or early evening. Maximum temperatures 9 to 13 Celsius coolest in the east and south, in light to moderate easterly breezes.
Dry overnight, with clear spells. In light easterly breezes, patches of mist and fog may develop, especially inland. Minimum temperatures 1 to 4 Celsius generally, but falling to freezing where clear spells persist, with a risk of frost.
Wednesday will be mainly dry and bright, with sunny intervals and just a small chance of an isolated light shower. Quite cool on the coast, in mostly light east to southeast or variable breezes, with maximum temperatures of just 8 to 10 Celsius, but milder further inland, with values of 11 to 13 or 14 degrees.
