Newstalk radio star to be MC for Kildare Derby Festival Rose Final

Kildare Derby Festival Rose, formerly Kildare Derby Festival Queen, was launched in Studio One
and 9pm building up to the crowning of our new Kildare Derby Festival Rose on June 21.

The committee are delighted to announce that the MC for this year’s show will be broadcaster
Susan Keogh.

Susan is well known for her radio show Newstalk Breakfast with Susan Keogh. She
brings with her a wealth of experience, and her bubbly personality will no doubt help put the
contestants at ease and have some fun.

We are thrilled to have Tipperary Crystal joining us this year and they are presenting the crown for
this years Kildare Derby Festival Rose along with other stunning gifts for the entrants.

  • This year’s contestants can look forward to an especially exciting programme of events leading up to the main night. These outings are great bonding times for the girls and forge great friendships, and of course a fantastic photo opportunity for them all.
  • As always, we will be having the Annual Photo shoot in the Japanese Gardens, to be held on
    Sunday 16 th June this year. Other photo shoots will be held at Kildare Village and at the
    Kildare Farm Foods Zoo
  • Karen & Michelle of the award-winning Deane Hair Design salon will host a Masterclass in
    Hair Styling and a Masterclass in make-up application with the lovely Rebecca O’Sullivan will
    also run in conjunction with the Hair Styling class and it promises to be great fun for all our
    ladies.
  •  There is an evening of Glamour with Vanity Fair where the girls will get to model their
    clothes;
  • An evening with Toast Masters for a tuition on public speaking;
  • A day out at Redhills Adventure
  • A full programme will be published in the coming weeks.

Former Queens Sarah McDermott and Amy Kelly will be joining the Organising
Committee. They will also be doing a live Q&A session on Facebook, Instagram and
Snapchat over the coming weeks for any contestants interested in taking part this year that may
have questions or need advice.

The Winner of the Derby Festival Rose will receive an extremely generous prize to the value of
€2,000 which includes a cash prize and tickets to the Irish Derby Races on the Curragh.

The Conditions of Entry to the competition are:

  • Contestants must be Irish born or have Irish ancestors
  • Aged between 18 and 27
  • Unmarried
