Disappointment for the Kildare ladies in Tubbercurry.......
The home side led at half time, 1 07 to Kildare's 7 points but on resumption of play, Kildare upped a few gears and scored 1 03 to put them three points in the lead.
Alas, just when the Lilies looked to be cruising, Sligo replied with a second goal and a brace of points before Kildare scored a point to put them only two points behind.
A third goal and several points followed for Sligo with only one point from Kildare in reply. Sligo were impressive in defense in the closing minutes and determined not to let Kildare forwards in.
Ironically, Sligo now proceed to the semi-final - but, depending on the remaining LGFA fixtures today, Kildare could yet proceed also to the semis - and could even face today's opponents again.
