EMMA’s Country Dance Classes –
Every Tuesday at Sarsfields GAA, beginners and improvers welcome!
Strictly has hit our screens again and for anyone who’d love to learn to jive, waltz or do a quickstep, why not join EMMA’s Country Dance Classes at Sarsfields’ GAA Club in Newbridge?
Every Tuesday night from 8-.30-9pm, dance tutor Emma Donoghue helps members of all ages and abilities through the dance steps and sequences. Here couples, children and individuals who attend regularly are learning to master the jive, foxtrot, quickstep and waltz in a nice relaxed environment.

This is a no pressure learning come entertaining environment” said dance tutor Emma. “There is ample free parking, a fabulous smooth dancing floor in an air conditioned venue. Not everyone can be a natural mover or smooth waltzer. For some, it’s to learn the basics and to enjoy dancing socially at family or local celebrations; for others, it to know the sequences and more advanced steps for say jiving and country dancing, which is making a big comeback in recent years”.
“The key is to learn at your pace, until you are comfortable working through the jive or quickstep. “
EMMA’s Country Dance Classes are also available for private celebrations – you could hire their services for a Hen Night, a special birthday party, or indeed for children’s birthday parties – kiddies love dance – and they also in demand for corporate clients.
“I get asked by wedding couples too for private classes where the majority of men really don’t know how to waltz competently. Don’t be afraid, we are happy to take you through the steps and teach you the moves at your pace.”
There are two events coming up this month: Declan Aungier on Tuesday, 9 October, admission €10.
A Customer Appreciation Night with Glen Flynn will be hosted on Tuesday, October 16, which is FREE to all regular dance students, all welcome. The dance group recently entertained and lured some visitors at the Kildare County Show onto the dancefloor, minus the wellies!
