It has been confirmed that there will be increased bus services operating in the north of the county from the middle of next month onwards.

Kildare TD Frank O’Rourke has been informed that Bus Eireann will be providing additional services for Kilcock Bus commuters, on Route 115, commencing from Monday October 14.

"The core Bus Eireann frequency to/from Kilcock will increase to every 30 minutes throughout the day, from October, with lower frequencies after 7pm. We have seen the numbers using public transport from Kilcock increasing in recent years and we need to increase the capacity to cater for the increased demand.”

Having previously campaigned for this improved service over the last two years, O’Rourke is happy it has now been rubberstamped after expressing his disappointment when it did not commence in September as originally planned.

“The implementation date is now planned for October 8. I had hoped that this would have been provided before now, but at last Bus Eireann now have confirmed an implementation date. The timetable will be published by next weekend.”

“We have seen improvements in the frequency on Route 115 over the last year or so. However additional services are needed, and I am delighted that these additional services will now be provided.  The morning service needs further improvement and I will continue to engage with the NTA and Bus Eireann to address the concerns of morning commuters.”

“We also need to improve the rail service to Kilcock and I continue to make representations to have this service improved.”
