It's set to be a rather miserable weekend as regards weather around Kildare as there will be plenty of rainfall and very little sunshine in the coming days.
It will begin cloudy and misty tonight, with persistent rain becoming widespread over the southern half of the country, with some heavy falls and the risk of spot flooding there. Some hill and coastal fog also. Drier in more northern areas with just scattered outbreaks of rain. Lowest temperatures 10-12 degrees.
A cloudy, misty start in many areas on Saturday, with outbreaks of rain, heavy in southern parts of Munster and Leinster. Drier, brighter conditions in the north and northwest will extend across Ulster and much of Connacht in the morning. The clearer weather will extend only slowly southwards during the afternoon, so that the rain is likely to persist over south Munster and south Leinster until evening. Highest temperatures 15-17 degrees. Fresh southwest winds in southern coastal counties, but winds light elsewhere.
Cloudy and misty overnight Saturday night, with rain and drizzle in places. Fog patches too. But it should dry out later. Southerly winds will veer westerly and freshen. Lowest temperatures 9-11 degrees.
On Sunday showery rain will affect Atlantic coastal counties, but it will be mainly dry and bright elsewhere, with occasional sunny spells. Highest temperatures 15-18 degrees, in moderate to fresh southwest to west winds. Dry overnight with slack breezes, misty with patches of fog. Lowest temperatures 6-9 degrees.
