A Naas Court heard a Judge state that 'even Hitler's bunker' could not save a man before the court 'from himself.'

The man appeared before the court yesterday, charged with unlawful possession of drugs, at Abbey St, Naas, on April 22, 2016.

Represented by Defence Solicitor, Timmy Kennelly, the accused, from Naas,  appeared holding a book called 'Hitler's Bunker.'

Sgt Jim Kelly told the court how the accused was found with €20 worth of heroin.

Mr Kennelly told the court how his client is now 'reconciled with his parents'.

The court also heard from Defence how the accused is 'now reading three books a week.'

Mr Kennelly said that the accused is doing very well, 'is off the drugs' and has a job interview coming up.

The accused told Judge Desmond Zaidan how after some methadone he has stopped taking drugs.

Addressing the accused, Judge Zaidan said: "This man has been destroying himself with drugs, even Hitler's Bunker could not save him from himself."

Mr Kennelly said: "It is very sad, he could have done a lot more himself."

Judge Zaidan ordered that the accused enter into a six months Probation Bond.
