A principal is now appointed for Brannoxtown Community National School due to start in September.
Following the recent announcement by Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) confirming the opening of Brannoxtown Community National School from from next month, KWETB is delighted to announce the appointment of an Acting Principal for the school.
Dr Sarah Fitzpatrick currently teaches at Naas Community National School and she is a former Deputy Chief Executive for the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). She takes up her new role with immediate effect.
Dr Fitzpatrick stated that she is excited by the opportunity to lead the school under its new patron. She also expressed a strong commitment to promoting children’s wellbeing and to engaging students through authentic, enjoyable learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.
Brannoxtown NS is nolonger under the patronage of the Catholic church after more than 100 years.
Following the sudden closure of Brannoxtown N.S, 12 months ago, Fine Gael TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon, welcomed the announcement that an agreement has been reached with the Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, to open the school in a multi- denominational capacity.
Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with Dr Fitzpatrick at the Brannoxtown Community National School Family Open Day, which will take place in the school from 3:00pm on Saturday 18 August.
