A public meeting on a recent increase in burglaries in the Kill and Johnstown area is set to take place later this evening with Gardaí and local representatives invited to attend.

Kill Community Text Alert will be one of the groups holding the event at Kill GAA on Tuesday, August 14th  at 7.30pm.

Senator Anthony Lawlor, who is running for Kildare North in the next general election, said Inspector Oliver Henry in Naas Garda Station has agreed to attend with Crime Prevention Officers.

The public meeting is being held because of the reported increase in the number of burglaries having taken place in the Kill and Johnstown areas in the past several weeks, with at least a dozen incidents having been reported to gardai.

In light of the recent spate of burglaries, local residents are calling for a greater Garda presence for both Kill and Johnstown.
