An appeal against Kildare County Council's decision to turn down plans for the development of 22 new apartments in Naas has been thrown out by An Bord Pleanála.

Viztip Limited were denied planning permission by the local council for their €3.2 million development at Craddockstown Court, and their appeal to the national planning board has fallen short.

Their application requested permission for the infill development of two residential blocks within the curtilage of the existing Craddockstown Court Apartments. Both new blocks would have been four storeys in height and included 11 no. apartments in each block.

It would have brought the total number of apartments on site to 69. A basement level to Block F was proposed to provide for car parking, cycle storage and a bin store. Each apartment would have had have private amenity space provided by a terrace at ground floor or a balcony for apartments above ground floor level.

The application also proposed an additional 39 car parking spaces bringing the total car parking provision to 112  spaces on site.
