Business owners in Newbridge have been angered at the level of illegal dumping that is becoming more of an eyesore on the town in recent times.
In one case that was brought to the attention of KildareNow, a number of rubbish bags were dumped on Limerick Lane, a small access street between Henry Street and the Main Street.
The rubbish bags have been lying there since last Saturday, and though business owners brought the matter to the attention of Kildare County Council on Tuesday, it remains on the street this Friday.
One local business owner has said that 'Newbridge has gone to the dogs' and that this is not an irregular occurrence in the town.
Local shop owners are said to be furious that nothing has been done about the illegal dumping, which mostly occurs on the back streets.
Just a few miles out the road at the Curragh, there have been numerous reports of fly-tipping this week alone, with the dumping of rubbish and household items becoming a major problem in many parts of the county.
