A leak on the Sallins Road in Naas which has been angering locals for quite a while now has finally been repaired.
The leak, which occurs near the Applegreen Store at Boreen Lusk, could be especially noticed during the long periods of dry weather this summer when there was no surface water on any other parts of the road.
Kildare North TD, James Lawless, has confirmed that the repairs are almost finished and that new drainage has been installed.
Deputy Lawless said; “I am delighted to confirm that works are being completed today to stop this leak. This bizarre leak had been going on for some time. Having met residents I know it was a great source of frustration for them. I also held meetings with the manager of the Applegreen garage who was equally perplexed by this unusual leak.
“Importantly, this is fixed before the schools comes back and the winter months see the colder weather turn this part of the footpath into an ice rink. I want to thank Irish Water and Kildare County Council for their work on resolving this matter,” concluded Deputy Lawless.
