Naas Roads Policing Unit yesterday stopped a motorcycle rider and checked his road traffic documents.
The checkpoint was on the R445 route near Newbridge.
It emerged he had no insurance and his driving licence only qualified him for a moped.
The driver will be appearing in court in coming weeks.
Gardai also seized three vehicles for no insurance at the scene.
