An investigation has been launched after an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Athy.
The alleged incident happened in the town centre in early hours of Sunday morning last.
The woman, who is aged in her 40s, had been socialising with friends in the town until 4am.
Soon afterwards, she accepted a lift from a black-coloured 4x4 vehicle and the alleged sexual assualted took place.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who have any information to come forward.
