Emergency services said that all horses involved in a serious accident on the M50 yesterday evening are unharmed.
The incident on the M50 Southbound occurred near J12 Firhouse at around 7pm yesterday evening as a horsebox overturned on the busy link road. There were a number of horses on board at the time, and there were fears for their safety following the incident.
Gardaí decided to close all lanes on the road to ensure that the horses could be removed from the truck safely and that the horsebox could be put back standing upright. A crane was called in to help get the truck back onto its wheels.
Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted to say that all horses were fine and that they were being removed in another horsebox.
The road was eventually reopened at around 9.30pm last night, and the driver is also said to have been uninjured in the accident.
