A District Court Judge has refused to hear the case of a teenager facing charges in connection to approximately €158,000 worth of damage in Naas, including a fire at a former pub.
The teenager, who is a juvenile, appeared before Naas Juvenile Court, on Thursday, represented by Mr Timmy Kennelly. He is facing charges in connection to the former Forge Pub in Naas.
He is facing a charge of criminal damage to three security cameras, at Craddockstown Road, Naas, on March 20, 2018.
The teenager is also facing a charge of arson to a number of bins at Friary Road, Naas, on the same date, and on March 14, 2018, he is charged with arson at The Forge, Main St, Naas.
A co-accused, who is over 18 years old, is due before Naas Circuit Court.
Judge Desmond Zaidan refused jurisdiction at the District Court.
He said: "Due to the seriousness of the allegations, and that the co-accused will be before the Circuit Court, I am refusing jurisdiction."
