A garda who retired from in February donated three tanks of his precious fish to a school.
Garda Aidan Donnelly's pets have been given an new home in Trinity Comprehensive Secondary School in Ballymun in north Dublin.
Garda Donnelly, who was based at Harcourt Square, personally helped settled the fish into their new environment - in the reception area as well as the resource room and remedial room.
Teacher Ms Angela Moffat said the students have grown really fond of the fish and find that watching them swimming around in their tanks 'very relaxing'.
However pupils were concerned about how they would be fed over recent school holidays when classrooms were closed.
To save the day, Ms Moffat kindly stepped in to feed them over the break period.
