No less than six county teams will play in major championship fixtures this weekend, with the Kildare minors first out tonight against Wicklow for a replay of the Leinster semi-final. The Garden County youngsters managed to secure a last gasp draw in a titanic battle in Newbridge last Sunday to ensure a second day out was warranted.
Kildare should have killed off the game last Sunday in extra time; let's hope the Wicklow side won't build on home advantage but the Lilywhites should still have enough in the tank to claim the title.
Throw in is at 7pm.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Limerick is the venue for a double header for Kildare. The Kildare U21 hurlers will take on Kerry at 2pm, having previously defeated Wicklow in their first game in the All-Ireland U21 B Hurling Championship. Kildare U20s, Leinster Champions will face a massively talented Kerry team, kick off 4pm.
On Sunday, the Kildare ladies kick off their All-Ireland Intermediate Football Championship campaign when they take on Wexford in Crettyard, at 2pm. The Kildare minor ladies go in search of their first All-Ireland glory, as they play Roscommon in Moate at 2pm in the All-Ireland Minor B final.
Shame the ladies and men's seniors' game should clash, along with several club and county fixtures over the weekend.
