Call for urgent meeting on 'smell' in Leixlip

Kildare Co Council has been asked to seek an urgent meeting with Irish Water on 'ongoing odour issues' in Leixlip.

Councillor Anto Larkin will raise the issue at the local Municipal District meeting next week.

The politician claimed the mystery smell is centred around Pound Street and the Main Street of Leixlip.

At the monthly meeting, Councillor Joe Neville will be calling on Municipal District members to be given an update on the "issues pertaining to the smell in Leixlip village".

Cllr Neville will also be requesting the Office of Public Works (OPW) to put in more seats to help the elderly get better use of the parklands at Castletown House.

He will also be looking for an update on the speed limit review taking place in Kildare and asking for a list of locations in Leixlip and Celbridge put forward for review.
