A major search operation is continuing in Blessington Lakes today following reports that a man has drowned there.
Emergency services rushed to the area around 7.15pm last night after members of the public sighted a man, believed to be in difficulty in the water.
Several units from the gardaí, coastguard and the mountain rescue crew were dispatched to the area near Lacken.
However efforts to locate the man were unsuccessful.
It is believed the man was enjoying the hot weather when he got into difficulty.
Crews resume their search for the man this morning.
