Councillor Sean Power has called on Kildare Co Council to collect rubbish more frequently in St Conleth's Cemetery in Newbridge.
The politician said that litter is 'spilling over onto other graves'.
Cllr Power acknowleded the wonderful work carried out by the Cemetery Committee and many families in looking after the cemetery.
The former TD will raise the issue at the next local Municipal District meeting taking place in Newbridge next week.
At the same meeting, Cllr Power will highlight the "terrible condition" of the ditch between The Oaks and Langton Road, and ask that the Council give serious consideration to undertaking a major clean up of the ditch or
removing it completely.
He will also request the Council to outline what plans it has to provide footpaths and traffic calming
measures in The Oaks/Acorn Downs area.
