Several units of Kildare Fire Service spent seven hours fighting a fire at a home in Johnstown yesterday.
The blaze broke out at the dwelling at around 12 noon.
Units from Naas, Newbridge and Maynooth responded to the incident.
Passing motorists could see smoke from the N7 and were overtaken by emergency vehicles.
There were seven fire appliances at the scene included a high-rise hydraulic platform .
Fire crews were on the scene for a total of seven hours before the area was declared safe.
