Two roads and a railway bridge in Co Kildare closed today for road works

Motorists are advised that three separate routes will be closed from this morning.

Road resurfacing works on the (L-2007) from Straffan to Kill from Tuesday for four weeks.

The working hours each day will be from 8am to 6pm.

A Stop/Go system will be in operation and delays are to be expected in the area.

Kildare County Council thanked road users in advance for their co-operation.

Road resurfacing works also begin this morning on the L-2030 in Thomastown near Victoria Bridge.

The works will take place between the railway bridge (Malone's Bridge) and the Rathangan Road T-Junction.

The working hours each day will be from 8am to 6pm and a Stop/Go system will be in operation and delays are to be expected in the area.

Sherlockstown Railway Bridge OBC35, Sallins (Local road number L6012) will be closed until Thursday, 5 May at 8pm.

The closure is required to facilitate the renewal of an over-bridge OBC35 on the Dublin/Cork Line north of Sallins Train Station.

Motorists coming from Sallins are advised to follow the L6011 to Sherlockstown Cross Roads and turn right onto the L2010.

From Painstown, they are advised to follow the L2010 to Sherlockstown Cross Roads. Turn left onto the L6011.

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the council and An Garda Síochána. Local and emergency access will be allowed at all times.
