Robertstown dad who died in canal collision to be laid to rest on Saturday

The dad-of-two from Robertstown who tragically died when his car plunged into the canal in Allenwood South will be buried on Saturday.

Michael or 'Mickey' McManus lost his life in the incident at Derrinturn before 6am yesterday morning.

The popular man is sadly missed by his daughter Rachel and son Aaron as well as his parents Catherine and Riddler.

Other family members being comforted following the tragedy are Michael's brothers Trevor and Thomas, his sister Michelle, his brother-in-law Richie, his sisters-in-law Idelle and Jennifer as well as uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

His remains will repose at his parents' residence in Killina from 7pm this evening with Rosary at 8pm on Thursday and Friday.

Removal on Saturday at 1.30pm to arrive at Derrinturn Church for 2pm Funeral Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The family requested that the house is private on Saturday morning.
