A Co Kildare nursing student is set to embark upon the adventure of a life time through Europe as part of a team based fundraising charity event in aid of Movemeber Ireland to encourage men to look after their physical, emotional and mental health.

Noel Dowling is from Newbridge and he is in his 3rd year studying Nursing at DCU.

In under three weeks Noel and his team mate Jade Gannon will be taking part in an annual charity event called "Beg, Borrow, Steal" where he and his team will travel around Europe to get to Barcelona without using any of their money and relying on the kindness of strangers.

In recent years the "Beg, Borrow, Steal" charity event has gained much popularity amongst university students and last year the annual charity event which saw 120 students race from The DCU Hub to Rome in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in association with Movember Ireland raised €100,000.

According to Noel the event this year is also in aid of Movember Ireland and aims to raise  awareness of prostate and testicular cancer and also try to get men talking about their emotions to prevent suicide" and 60 teams of two will take part in the event.

The duo will be running a series of fundraisers, both online and offline, in the run up to the event.
