It’s been a busy couple of months for country music singer Sina Theil as she has worked hard on her new solo EP, with her latest single “Forever and a Day” reaching #1 in the Country iTunes charts this week with the music video to be released this Sunday-just in time for Mother’s Day with the song dedicated to both her parents.
Sina, 28, is originally from Germany but has lived in Naas for several months, and her new single ʻForever and a Day’ was officially released yesterday with the new music video expected to come out this Sunday.
Speaking to KildareNow ahead of the release of her new single, Sina said that she is very excited about it.
She said: " I wrote this song for my parents, so it's very personal and I hope families all around the country will relate to the story. I'm so proud to say that it is currently #1 in the Country iTunes Charts! The official video is coming out on Mother's Day (Sunday 11 March) and includes a video collage of family photos that I received from people all around the country with their mother as a surprise for their special day!”
ʻForever and a Day’ is a heartfelt ballad written by Sina that speaks about deep love, forgiveness and ultimately redemption. It has an Alt-Country vibe defined by an intimate vocal and light instrumentation at the start, which later on lead into an emotional build up and powerful peak that show Sina’s vocal ability and compelling blend of strings and lead guitar.
Speaking about the release, Sina explained:“As many families do, my parents and I were going through some issues during my teenage years. Things were tough and we caused each other pain but with time came understanding and we found the way to overcome our differences and heal our family bond. I realised before it was too late that they always did the best they could and supported me in every way, so I wrote this song to say “thank you” and let them know that I love them forever.”
She added: “I hope that this song will resonate with families everywhere and deliver a message of love and healing. It’s also especially dedicated to all mothers, since it’s coming out in time for Mother’s Day.”
Meanwhile, Brian O´Mahoney from The Perfect Skins produced and played various instruments on the track while John Davidson from Cúa added the fiddle for the single.
Sina's journey to break into the music industry began when she left her native Germany for Spain where she formed her first band and recorded her first demos. and she would later relocate to Dublin to pave her career on the music scene and she became a student of BIMM, which is Europe's largest and most popular music college. Sina gained experience busking around Dublin and performing as the front woman of two different rock bands before signing to Downda Productions in early 2017 and she sis currently living in Naas since last May.
In 2017 Sina was signed to Downda Road Productions and has since scored three #1 singles in the Irish Country Download Charts. She also achieved a #2 with the single “Sam’s Coming Home” which was recorded for Mayo based Childhood Cancer Charity Gearóid's Smile. The song was centred around Mayo’s unsuccessful bid for All Ireland glory in 2017.
Sina’s connection with Mayo GAA goes back to a chance recording of her reworking of “Galway Girl” outside McHale Park which received over 91,000 views and resulted in a major increase in her popularity and constant gigging, especially in the West of Ireland. Another of Sina’s tracks ‘Weight of the World’ appeared on the Charity Album ‘The Positive Touch’ alongside songs from artists such as Paddy Casey, Mundy, The 4 Of Us, The Devlins, The Blades, Gavin Glass and more.
During a very successful launch at The Workman’s Club in Dublin, Sina gained great exposure as she joined Paddy Casey and Mundy on stage for a memorable performance. She also gained great exposure when being nominated “Song of the Week” on Highland Radio, KFm, Dundalk Fm and Belgium Country Radio. More recently, she has been featured and interviewed on Keep It Country TV and appeared in RSVP Magazine, the Irish Mirror and various local press publications.
Sina is currently working on her debut album due out later this year. The album will be a mix of originals and well chosen covers and is set to establish her as one of the top Country Rock/Alt Country artists in Ireland. She is also collaborating with other Downda Road artists including exciting new material and possibly a collaboration EP with alt-rock band Vagabonds and Thieves.
