Perfectly groomed brows are a must - they frame your eyes and balance your face.
If you want the perfect brow you have a few options, including waxing, plucking, tweezing or threading. It really depends on your own personal preference.
First and foremost, you need to find out what shape suits you best and how to measure the thickness and length you want your brows.
Finding the perfect shape
Take a long thin pencil and line it from the inside corner of your eye to the edge of your nose. This will tell you where the start of your brow should be.
It's important to find the highest point of your arch to create the perfect brow. Line up the pencil with the outer edge of your nostril and the outer edge of your eye. Where you see the pencil cross your brow is where your arch should peak.
Using an eyeliner pencil, make a little mark as to where each point of the brow was met and repeat on the other side.
It's all about the shade
If you are inexperienced at filling in your brows, trip to the salon can provide the expertise you need to help you create the most natural and fashionable brow colour and shape for your face.
Redheads should go for an ashy colour when it comes to brows, while blondes should match their colour with the roots of their hair, or the darkest colour on their head.
Brunettes should aim to stay within two shades of your natural colour. If you have light eyes, a dark brown defines features, while those with darker eyes should wear a lighter colour on their brows.
If you have black hair, don't think this means you should wear black brows - go for a medium brown to enhance the shape and colour of your eyes.
Filling in your brows
For well defined brows and to get rid of any gaps, choose a method to fill your brows.
There are so many different methods - those with experience sometimes go for brow tattooing or other semi permanent treatments, while others tint their brows.
To fill in your brows using makeup, options include powders, pencils and pomades. If you are lucky enough to have full brows with no gaps, a brow gel should work for you.
What I currently use are NYX brow products, which create my desired salon shape.
Angled brushes are best to mimic natural hairs using a pomade, or to brush through a powder for a foolproof approach to brows.
Always start light and add more as you go along, especially if you are new to filling in your brows.
To give your brows that flawless, high definition finish, use highlighters or white powders to fill in the space underneath the brow. This tidies up the shape you created and also emphasises the arch of your brow.
To finish up, don't forget to brush through your brows. Once you see the difference your new look makes to your face, you'll never look back.
