As the most romantic day of the year swiftly approaches, engaged and married couples are being invited to attend a very special ceremony to have their rings blessed to mark St Valentine’s Day-perfect for those celebrating an anniversary!

Ceremonies will take place next weekend on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February 2018 at all Masses in St Conleth’s Parish Church and Cill Mhuire Church both in Newbridge.

The Blessing of the Rings ceremony is often done during wedding ceremonies for the Catholic faith, and for many engaged and married couples St Valentine's Day is a special way of  celebrating.

The ceremony is also part of the parish preparations for the World Meeting of Families which will take place in Dublin in August this year. The World Meeting of Families is held every three years and the major international event aims to bring families together from across the world to celebrate and reflect on the importance of marriage and the family in our lives and the Church.

The Blessing of The Rings ceremony ceremonies will take place during the scheduled masses next weekend at St Conleth’s Parish Church on Saturday 6pm, on Sunday at 8.30am, 11am, 12.30pm and 7pm, and Cill Mhuire on Saturday at 7pm and Sunday 10.30am.
