Gardai have wished people a safe and enjoyable Christmas Day.
However they warned that rain in many places will hamper driving conditions.
A spokesperson said: "Reduce speed, increase braking distance and use lights as visibility is reduced.
"Be safe and Happy Christmas to all!"
