An apprentice electrician appeared before Naas District Court facing charges for no car insurance.
The accused in his early twenties, pleaded guilty to no insurance.
Evidence was given that he had no previous convictions.
Defence Solicitor David Powderly said: "He needs his licence for his livelihood."
Addressing the accused, Judge Desmond Zaidan warned that if the accused was convicted for no insurance a second time, the he would automatically lose his licence and be off the road for two years.
Judge Zaidan imposed a €500 fine for no insurance, with six months to pay.
