A pregnant teenager appeared before Naas District Court after pleading guilty to being found in possession of €10 worth of cannabis.
The court heard how on March 4, 2016, the teenager, now 19-years-old, was found in possession of €10 worth of cannabis and charged with the unlawful possession of drugs, at Nurney, Kildare.
Evidence was given that she had no previous convictions.
Defence Solicitor, Timmy Kennelly, outlined how the accused is now two months pregnant.
Addressing the accused, Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "Have you stopped smoking dope?"
The accused said: "I have stopped 100%."
Judge Zaidan said: "You owe it to your baby to stop."
The Probation Act has been imposed.
