The Kildare hurlers will play their opening game of the Christy Ring Cup in Parnell Park in Dublin as it will accommodate fans of both Kildare and Antrim.

Antrim are the oppostion next Saturday, and they were due to have home advantage for the first round tie and it was scheduled to take place in Ballycastle. Antrim have chosen to give up their home advantage however, because their footballing counterparts will be playing in the National Football League Division 4 final against Louth at 4pm in Croke Park on the same day.

It will also be of great comfort to fans of both Kildare hurling and football as the footballers are lining out for the Division 3 final at 6pm that evening in Croke Park against Clare.

Parnell Park and Croke Park lie just four kilometres away from each other, so fans will be easily able to make it from the hurling to headquarters to see both games.
