The Kildare minor footballers kick off the defence of their Leinster Minor Football Championship crown when they face Wicklow in Aughrim at 3pm this afternoon.
Brendan Hackett has named a strong team that is backboned by three Kildare Club Minor Championship winners as Mark Dempsey, Tom Connolly and Aaron Masterson line out at full-back, centre-back and midfield respectively.
There is plenty of fire power up front in the form of Ciaran Kelly, Jimmy Hyland and Brian McLoughlin. Those three were pivotal players for last year's side, and they are likely to be the go-to guys for the 2016 campaign again.
