A man who was found in possession of another person's tax disc was sentenced to 11 months in prison at Naas District Court today.
Evidence was given by Inspector Gerry Egan how on September 23, 2015, the accused was found with a tax disc that was not registered to him.
Inspector Egan said that following a search, the disc was taken from him.
The court heard how the accused had eight previous road traffic offences, seven public order and had been disqualified for four years at Tallaght District Court on February last.
Defence Solicitor Sarah Connolly said: "He is battling chronic alcoholism for the past 10 years. There is no explanation for this matter. The public order charges were in relation to alcoholism."
Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered that he was sentenced to 11 months in prison, on his own bond of €400, with an independent surety of €700.
