Naas native Elliot Davis took part in the Kilcoole Music Festival in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow recently.
The teenager came joint 1st place in the Senior Boys Solo, and won the Father McAuliffe Cup for this.
This meant that he went through to the final round of the competition, which is the Prizewinner’s Competition.
He competed against the winners of all the other categories, singing the Italian aria ‘Si tra i ceppi’ by Handel.
For this performance, Elliot was given 1st place and was awarded the Tom Kilbride Perpetual Cup and the Maura Kilbride Perpetual Trophy – which means that he won the festival outright.
Elliot is under the tuition of vocal coach Owen C Lynch at Newbridge Vocal Academy.
Elliot was a student of Newbridge College – and completed his Leaving Cert in June, and is now attending University College Dublin.
