A hugely emotional day for Munster rugby was capped with a thrilling victory over Glasgow Warriors in their Champions Cup pool clash this afternoon, but in this part of the country there was a hugely coincidental sporting event that perfectly coincided with the Munster win.

On the day that the province played their first game since the untimely passing of head coach Anthony Foley, a horse called Stand Up And Fight landing the first race of the day at Punchestown race course.

Stand Up And Fight is the iconic song that the Munster players and supporters sing after each victory, and the Enda Bolger-trained four-year-old landed the Maiden Hurdle at the Kildare track at almost the exact same time as the final whistle was blown in Munster's 38-17 win at Thomond Park.

It was the second race of the day on a busy card at Punchestown, and it was a more than fitting way to spark further memories of the late Anthony Foley who would have been supremely proud of the display from his Munster side today.
